Adding to a list that includes Little Anthony & the Imperials, Linda Ronstadt, Jackie DeShannon, Grant Green, and the Delfonics, Boyce & Hart's 1965 hit "Hurt So Bad" gets remade St. Louis-style on Signs of the Time unreleased second single. Produced by former Elements of Peace guitarist Mel Turnage, the quintet's throwback sound was out of synch with the turned-on '70s, but through the lens of time their spooky, bare-bones, street corner beat-ballad vibe will hit any soul lover's sweet spot.
